Water plays a key role in the dialysis therapy as represents more than 99% of the dialysate, used to draw fluids and toxins out of the bloodstream and supply electrolytes and other chemicals to the bloodstream. MediaPure filters, installed just before the dialysis machine as the last component of the ultrapure water production process, rid dialysate of microbial contamination potentially originated from the water treatment system, the water loop, the dialysate concentrate or the dialysate proportioning system of the dialysis machine itself.
