MEDICA S.p.A manufactures and sells equipment , products and solutions for Congestive Heart Failure (CHF).
The CARDIOsmart ultrafiltration device used in a cardiac disease of extensive epidemiological impact, and is indeed the most common cause of hospitalization in the population over 65 years.
The CARDIOsmart provides a solution to patient fluid overload, and noticeably reduces the incidence of re-admission.
It provides an adjunct therapy to diuretic treatment and also can be used in patients resistant to diuretics. It is also recommended for use during the early stage of the disease.
This Ultrafiltration technique is used also during Cardiopulmonary by-pass, in the reheating phase to remove water accumulation (conventional ultrafiltration), by spontaneous filtration using a hemofilter.

CARDIOSMART

CARDIOSMART is an integrated system for the treatment of patients affected by Congestive Heart Failure, such equipment is intended to be an alternative treatment method for pharmacological therapy (use of diuretics), based on the removal of excessive liquids from the patient’s blood. CARDIOSMART has been developed to be easy to manage and guarantees a safe procedure for both patients and operators.

HEMOCONCENTRATORS

Medica S.p.A manufactures and offers a range of hemoconcentrators for cardiosurgery.
Hemoconcentrators are available pre-rinsed to speed-up the priming procedure. On request they can be supplied preassembled with tubing sets.
MEDICA S.p.A offer both paediatric and adult hemoconcentrators using its MediSulfone® membrane, which offers excellent biocompatibility ease of use.
