MEDICA S.p.A offers a range of dialysis filters for both low flux and high flux usage. The MEDICA S.p.A SMARTFLUX range of dialysers in polyethersulphone and PUREMA® membrane has been developed to meet the needs of nephrologists and dialysis patients worldwide. A range of high quality dialysis tubing sets suitable for most dialysis machines is also available. Specialist products such as OLPUR Mid-dilution Hemodiafilters MEDISULFONE®, and CRIT-LINE blood chambers (OEM products) complete the dialysis range.

SMARTFLUX

MEDICA S.p.A manufactures the SMARTFLUX polyethersulfone and Purema®* range of dialysis filters which are available in several surface areas and models. The SMARTFLUX L is a low permeability filter especially developed for standard efficiency bicarbonate dialysis while SMARTFLUX H is an high permeability filter particularly indicated for high efficiency treatments as hemodiafiltration and hemofiltration.

MEDISULFONE ® ULTRAFILTERS

MEDICA S.p.A has the developed the DiaPure® and D150/U, depirogenating ultrafilters made of MediSulfone®, the MEDICA S.p.A polysulfone membrane for ultrafiltration. Positioned between the hemodialysis machine and the filter , DiaPure® ensures dialysate purity, by a pyrogen removal factor of 10log5.
The asymmetric nature of the fibre walls maximizes absorption capability, ensuring that the solution is purified before entering the lumen of the fibres from where it flows to the hemodialyzer.
DiaPure® is available in 2 surface areas of 2.1m2 (DiaPure21) and 2.8 m2 (DiaPure28). DiaPure is a reusable filter and according to the water quality, can have an average life expectancy of 1 to max 2 months. This means every dialysis machine’s annual consumption is between 6 and 12 units. The MEDICA D150/U Ultrafilter is designed for pyrogen and endotoxins removal from water solutions such as replacement solutions for on-line hemodiafiltration. The pyrogen content of the initial solution is reduced by a factor of 10E5. The MEDICA D150/U Ultrafilter grants a very high filtration rate also at moderate operating pressures and can be used up to a transmembrane pressure of 500 mmHg.

ARM-Two™

ARM-Two™ is an automatic four-station system for dialyzer washing and reprocessing with an innovative user interface and patient identification. ARM-Two™ can manage all kinds of desinfectants available on the market. 10 filters can be reprocessed per hour.

DIALYSIS TUBING SETS

MEDICA S.p.A manufactures disposable tubing sets to be used in dialysis and on CRRT machines both under its own brand name and also for numerous OEM customers. The MEDICA S.p.A 5000m manufacturing plant is dedicated to moulding and the automatic assembly of these products.
The total area of the two clean room facilities is 3300m operating to 100.000 class clean room standards, and is equipped with state of the art assembly and testing technology.
